The good weather forecasts return the leading role to the Windsurf World Championship after two days marked by the absence of conditions
The Wind&Waves Festival faces a decisive day this Monday, August 3, with an eye on the resumption of the competition of the World Open, Junior and Masters Championship of the PWA/WWT, after the wind conditions recorded during the weekend prevented the dispute of the qualifying sleeves planned at the beach of El Cabezo.
After a Saturday and a Sunday without action in the water, the weather forecasts are much more favorable for this Monday, which allows recovering the optimism between organization, athletes and fans. The activity will begin at 09:30 hours with the usual meeting of patterns, at which time the Competition Committee will analyze the wind and sea conditions to determine the final time for the restart of the tests.
The program of activities will continue this Monday with new proposals for all audiences. At 12:00 pm, the main tent will host the talk ‘Spaces of El Médano’, an initiative included in the Wind&Waves Eco space, dedicated to the dissemination and awareness of the environmental wealth of the environment.
The day will conclude with music as the protagonist thanks to the DJ Session of Madden, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will put the finishing touch on a day that is finally expected to mark the real start of the competition in the waters of El Cabezo.
The Médano Wind&Waves Festival is organized by Blue Light Events and has the support of institutions such as the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Latitude of Life brand; the Cabildo of Tenerife, through his brand Tenerife arouses emotions; and the Municipality of Granadilla de Abona. In addition, the festival is sponsored by brands such as Beach Surf CBBC Hotel, Balearia, Veinte 04, Future Fly Boards and Foil Drive.
