Sustainability

Sustainable mobility and carbon footprint

Promotion of public and collective transport in the movements of participants, staff and the public, taking advantage of the fact that a good part of the athletes are already in the Canary Islands due to other tests of the PWA circuit, which reduces the footprint of international flights.

Energy and water

The event takes advantage of the existing electrical infrastructure in the Médano, minimizing the use of generator sets, and promotes responsible use of water in this sensitive coastal environment, with dispensers and savings messages.

Sustainable purchases

Contracting of goods and services with criteria of proximity, reuse and reduction of waste, prioritizing the local business fabric of Tenerife.

Recycling stations distributed throughout the enclosure, coordination with the Granadilla de Abona City Council for the selective collection and elimination of single-use plastics.

A free and accessible event that promotes equality, the prevention of harassment —with the possible implementation of a violet point— and a direct economic impact on the community of El Médano.
