El Cabezo Beach will host the PWA/WWT World Championship from July 31 to August 9, the Spanish Championship and the premiere of the Foil Drive Challenge
The Médano becomes this summer again the great international reference of windsurfing. From July 31 to August 9, the emblematic El Cabezo beach, in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife), will bring together the best specialists in the world on the occasion of an appointment that, for the twelfth time, will host the PWA/WWT Open, Junior and Masters World Championship, both in the female and male category.
As a great novelty of this edition, the event will also incorporate the Spanish Open Championship, also in women’s and men’s categories, further consolidating Tenerife as one of the main scenarios for the practice and competition of windsurfing at a national and international level.
Another of the great novelties in this 2026 will be the Foil Drive Challenge, an innovative proposal that will combine an exhibition of material by the brand, exhibitions and a competition weekend, bringing the latest trends in technology applied to water sports to the public.
The event, in addition, will once again offer a wide parallel program designed for all audiences. The enclosure will have a large main tent that will include a shopping area, gastronomic spaces and a children’s area designed so that the public and competitors can enjoy the event while the little ones have fun.
The festival will be completed with live music, activities, talks and different leisure proposals that will reinforce the unique atmosphere that characterizes this test, turning it into an experience that transcends sports.
The Médano Wind&Waves Festival is organized by Blue Light Events and has the support of institutions such as the Government of the Canary Islands, through the brand Canary Islands Latitude of Life; the Cabildo of Tenerife, through your brand Tenerife arouses emotions; and the Municipality of Granadilla de Abona. In addition, the festival is sponsored by brands such as Beach Surf CBBC Hotel, , BALEARY, , twenty 04, , Future Fly Boards and Foil Drive.
