The first Crown Sunset Session fills the Médano with atmosphere while the organization hopes to recover the sports action this Sunday in El Cabezo
The second day of Wind&Waves Festival It was marked by the absence of wind on the beach of El Cabezo, which prevented the celebration of the planned sleeves of the PWA/WWT Open, Junior and Masters World Championship. After the start of the competition on Friday with the dispute of the TRIALS, weather conditions did not allow the riders to return to the water throughout Saturday.
After the spectacular opening ceremony held on Friday through the streets of El Médano, the athletes took advantage of the day to rest, train outside the competition area and continue preparing a test that continues waiting for favorable conditions to offer the usual show in one of the most important spots recognized in the world for windsurfing.
Although the wind gave the competition a truce, the festival atmosphere did not stop at any time. From the first hour, the tent became a meeting point for residents, visitors and fans, who enjoyed the different leisure proposals organized throughout the day.
Without competition, the leading role of the day was for the first Sunset Session Crown, one of the great novelties of the musical program of this edition. Coinciding with the sunset, the festival tent had a magnificent atmosphere with the live performance of the street from Al Lao, which opened an afternoon full of music and good atmosphere. then Carlos Chavez He took over with a DJ session that made the public dance well into the night, consolidating the Corona Sunset Sessions as one of the great attractions of the festival’s parallel program.
The gaze is now on the day of the Sunday August 2, for which weather forecasts point to an improvement in wind conditions. If these are confirmed, the competition will return to the beach of El Cabezo to continue with the pending championships of the championship.
Apart from the sports action, the festival will continue to offer a wide program for all audiences. Starting at 6:30 p.m, the music will once again be the protagonist with the live performance of Chloe Palmer, which will put rhythm to a new afternoon of activities at a Wind&Waves Festival that continues to consolidate itself as an event that combines sports, culture, gastronomy and entertainment in front of the sea.
